More than 10,000 items by national and international artists have been submitted to secretariat of the 10th edition of the Fadjr International Festival of Visual Arts.
The festival’s office recently announced that 10,650 artworks from Iran and 53 other countries are submitted so far. The artworks are from some 2,760 registered artists.
The art council of the festival - a group of renowned artist - will evaluate the works in two sessions.
According to the secretariat about 4,351 items are to be present at the competition section.
Secretary of the festival is photographer Mojtaba Aqaei, 52, a recipient of First Degree Art Certificate from the Culture Ministry’s Evaluation Council.
The festival is being organized under the auspices of the Visual Arts Department of the Culture Ministry and the Institute for Promotion of Contemporary Art, affiliated to Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.
To plan and hold visual art exhibitions concurrent with the 40th anniversary of the triumph of Iran’s Islamic Revolution in 2019 in different countries, the international section also works with Department of International Affairs at the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization's (ICRO).
The 10th edition of the Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts is slated for January 23 to February 23, 2018, in Tehran.
